A huge dis-service
I am at a loss right now, and maybe this blog is the best way for me to maybe get my thoughts in some kind of sane line of it all. Almost a type of at least get it off my chest my thoughts. My husband was active duty for 14 and half years until he couldn't re-enlist to try to finish out his career in the army. Cut backs with the troops and the like made things harder for people to stay in, but that isn't the point. He spent that time in, learning how to fight, how to go to war, and how to do army type things, but never in those years in did they do things to prepare him for the life on the other side of the military, or how to adapt to civilian life. Yes, they had acap classes, but an hour or two, and nothing actually to help him understand how the outside world works, or getting skills to find jobs, or how to interact in the civilian world.
